At Oxpecker RugRefresh, we take great care to handle every rug with skill, professionalism, and respect. However, due to the unique nature and unknown histories of many rugs, certain risks are unavoidable during cleaning and handling. By using our services, you agree to the following terms and conditions, which form the basis of the contract between you and Oxpecker RugRefresh.

 

 

 

All rugs are cleaned at the client’s sole risk. While we apply industry-leading techniques and precautions, Oxpecker RugRefresh is not liable for any damage resulting from pre-existing conditions or hidden factors beyond our control. These may include, but are not limited to:

 

 

Clients are required to disclose any known issues, repairs, special treatments, or sensitivities before cleaning begins. Failure to do so releases Oxpecker RugRefresh from any liability for resulting damage.

 

 

Rugs acquired at auctions, second-hand outlets, or inherited items may have undergone cosmetic alterations, reweaving, dye enhancements, or non-standard repairs that are not visible before cleaning. These may become apparent only during or after cleaning and may result in discolouration, fibre loss, or other adverse effects. Oxpecker RugRefresh does not accept liability for such outcomes.

 

 

Some rugs—particularly those made from wool, silk, jute, or viscose—may be prone to colour run, fading, texture changes, warping, or shrinkage. Although spot testing may be conducted, it is not always conclusive. These risks are inherent to the cleaning process and are accepted by the client upon submission of the rug.

 

 

While we offer specialised treatments for pet-related odours and stains, the complete removal of deeply embedded smells (such as urine or mould) is not guaranteed. The cleaning process may reactivate latent odours. Oxpecker RugRefresh is not liable for residual scents or discolouration arising from biological contamination.

 

 

Subject to the Consumer Protection Act, Oxpecker RugRefresh’s liability for any loss or damage—whether direct or indirect—shall be limited to:

Nothing in these terms will exclude liability where such exclusion would be unlawful under South African law.

 

 

Clients will be notified once their rug is ready for collection or delivery. Rugs not collected within 14 days may be subject to a storage fee. Rugs not collected within 90 days will be deemed abandoned and may be sold, donated, or disposed of at our sole discretion to recover costs, without further liability.

 

 

All services are payable upon completion, unless otherwise agreed in writing. Rugs will not be released until full payment is received. Late payments may attract interest at the prescribed rate under the Prescribed Rate of Interest Act, 1975.

 

 

We will not be liable for any failure or delay in performance due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to load shedding, natural disasters, theft, fire, strikes, equipment failure, or civil unrest.

 

 

 

These terms represent the entire agreement between the client and Oxpecker RugRefresh. No verbal or written representations not contained herein will be binding unless confirmed in writing by an authorised representative. We reserve the right to amend these terms from time to time; the version published on our website at the time of booking shall apply.
